I find it very helpful to label each unit with post-it notes as you get them done, otherwise it may become confusing.<\/p>\n<p>Sew one of the HSTs made with your background fabric and color #1 together with an HST made with your background fabric and color #2 together like this:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jofigure.com\/quilts\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/three-unit1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-177\" title=\"three-unit1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jofigure.com\/quilts\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/three-unit1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"125\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nMake ten of these and label them &#8220;Unit #1&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Now make two sets of something we&#8217;ll call Unit #1a that will look like this:<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jofigure.com\/quilts\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/three-unit1a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"125\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em> **What happened here is that though I was certain I&#8217;d made only Unit #1s when I made this mystery myself, one of my test sewers found something that showed I must not have.
